01 What it costs

The final price depends on your model — batteries for the larger Pro machines cost more than for a MacBook Air, and on many modern MacBooks the battery is bonded into the case, which makes the job more involved. 02 How long it takes
A MacBook battery is a longer job than an iPhone one, and it can depend on stock — we don't hold cells for every model, so some are ordered in. We'll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote. If you rely on the machine for work, tell us and we'll plan around it rather than leave you without it unexpectedly.
03 Do you actually need a new battery?
Signs it's the battery:
- Runtime has collapsed — an hour or two where you used to get most of a day.
- The Mac shuts down suddenly, or won't run unless it's plugged in.
- macOS shows "Service Recommended" or "Replace Now" in the battery menu.
- The trackpad clicks unevenly or feels raised — a classic sign of a swelling battery underneath.
- The case has started to flex or won't sit flat on the desk.
And signs it might be something else: a Mac that won't power on at all, or won't charge regardless of battery condition, can point to the charging circuit or logic board. We'd find that during the free diagnosis rather than sell you a battery you don't need.
04 Swollen battery — read this
A swollen MacBook battery is a safety issue, not just a performance one. If your trackpad is lifting, the case is bulging, or the laptop rocks on the desk, stop charging it, stop using it, and don't press on the case. A swollen lithium battery can damage the trackpad and screen from the inside and, in the worst case, is a fire risk. Bring it in — don't leave it charging overnight or sitting in a hot room.
05 Check your battery health
You can see this yourself before you come:
- Apple menu → System Settings → Battery, then click the ⓘ next to Battery Health.
- It shows a condition — Normal, or Service Recommended — and on many models a maximum capacity percentage and cycle count.
- "Service Recommended" plus poor runtime is the clearest sign it's time.

07 Your warranty
MacBook battery replacements carry a 30-day warranty on parts and labour, written on your repair receipt. If the battery we fitted proves defective, we replace it free. Normal wear over time and new physical or liquid damage aren't covered — full terms on our warranty policy page.
